Too PC

The NCAA in all its dictatorial glory has come up with a new resolution banning universities using "hostile" ethnic mascots from participating in sanctioned postseason tournaments. Included in the "hostile" category are two mascots which anyone can agree are hostile beyond reconciliation. Well, anyone except the tribes themselves for which the schools take their mascot insignia.

Above are two "hostile" ethnic logos. Notice the oppression and degradation displayed by both symbols. Obvious, yes? Obvious to the NCAA, but not to the Seminole tribe of Florida or to the Ute tribe of Utah. Who should have the final word on such a matter, a corrupt beureaucratic organization or the people to whom the supposed hostilities are directed?

Dan Wetzel at Yahoo Sports (www.sports.yahoo.com) has a solution:

Just tell the politically correct set one thing about that Fighting Sioux in your logo:

He's gay.
